Central banks announce rates this week as crypto traders await Warsh guidance
Central bank policy decisions and major corporate earnings reports will shape crypto markets this week, with attention focused less on rate moves themselves than on forward guidance from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and peers. Multiple blockchain and financial services firms reporting results alongside traditional Wall Street players will test institutional appetite for digital assets.
- Federal Reserve and Bank of Canada announce rates Wednesday, ECB Thursday, Bank of Japan Friday
- Galaxy Digital, Robinhood Markets, Coinbase Global and MicroStrategy report earnings alongside PayPal and Mastercard
- Market focus tilted toward Warsh commentary on December policy rather than immediate rate action itself
- Oct. 29 Coinbase Global earnings report date, post-market announcement
- Oct. 29 MicroStrategy earnings report date, post-market announcement
- $20.9M Collector Crypt token unlock value on October 29
- $50.34M MemeCore token unlock value scheduled for November 1
Interest rate decisions from major central banks will dominate the trading week ahead, though market participants are bracing for a different kind of signal than the rate moves themselves. According to CoinDesk reporting, the Federal Reserve and Bank of Canada will announce policy on Wednesday, the European Central Bank on Thursday, and the Bank of Japan on Friday. The focus for crypto traders will center on forward guidance from policymakers, particularly Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh, rather than the rate decisions themselves.
Warsh commentary expected to reshape December rate expectations
Traders are prioritizing any statements from Warsh regarding the December policy meeting over the immediate rate announcement, according to MEXC CEO Vugar Usi Zade. “Since keeping rates steady is already priced into market expectations, such a move is unlikely to serve as a significant positive catalyst,” Usi Zade told CoinDesk.
Traders are currently less focused on the specific rate decision and more interested in any statements from Warsh regarding the upcoming December meeting.

The forward guidance will prove critical for digital asset valuations, which have become increasingly sensitive to real interest rate expectations.
Coinbase, MicroStrategy and blockchain firms report results alongside Wall Street earnings rush
Cryptocurrency-linked public companies will file third-quarter results during a particularly dense earnings week for financial markets. Galaxy Digital will report before the market opens on Monday (October 26), followed by PayPal Holdings on Tuesday (October 27) at pre-market, and SoFi Technologies also on Tuesday (October 27) at pre-market. Robinhood Markets will announce results Sunday evening after market close.
Intercontinental Exchange will post results Wednesday at pre-market, while Mastercard will report Wednesday at pre-market and Coinbase Global and MicroStrategy both report October 29 after market close. The concentration of corporate disclosures could trigger volatility as institutional investors assess digital asset adoption and profitability trends across the sector.
Coinbase earnings carry particular weight for the crypto industry as a bellwether of institutional interest and trading volumes.
Token governance votes and major unlocks drive blockchain activity
Multiple decentralized governance initiatives are running parallel to the market-moving macroeconomic events. ENS DAO is voting on a 201,559 USDC funding request for its meta-governance working group through Term 7, with voting concluding today (Monday, October 26). CoW DAO is seeking approval to grant its core team a standing mandate to set and adjust protocol fee policies within predefined ranges, with voting ending Wednesday (October 28).
Significant token unlocks will occur simultaneously with earnings announcements. Collector Crypt will unlock 0.6% of its circulating supply worth $20.9 million on Thursday (October 29), while MemeCore will release 56.11 million tokens, representing 2.8% of its circulating supply valued at $50.34 million, on Sunday (November 1). Binance will end spot trading in Epic Chain and QuickSwap on Tuesday (October 27) at 11 p.m.
The BlockWest read. Institutional players reporting earnings this week will reveal whether falling cryptocurrency volatility and steadier market conditions have translated into sustainable trading flow and real adoption. These results will inform whether digital asset businesses can maintain profitability outside the speculative cycles that previously dominated their performance.
Watch for Coinbase’s October 29 earnings call to detail third-quarter volumes and any commentary on anticipated regulatory clarity under the incoming administration, as well as the substance of Warsh’s remarks on December policy timing and magnitude.
